George Wilson

George Wilson is the Founder and President of Badges & Boxes, a service-driven initiative dedicated to strengthening trust between law enforcement and the communities they serve. With more than two decades of law enforcement experience, George has built his career on protecting the vulnerable, supporting victims, and addressing complex public safety challenges — particularly in cases involving internet crimes against children, domestic violence, and human trafficking.

During his career, George also served as a School Resource Officer, where he worked closely with students, teachers, and families while coaching football and baseball. It was during this time — especially throughout the COVID-19 pandemic — that he saw firsthand the growing needs within his community. Taking initiative, he launched a grassroots food outreach program to support children and families facing hardship. What began as a small effort quickly gained momentum, with teachers and school administrators joining to expand its reach. That program ultimately became the foundation and catalyst for what is now Badges & Boxes.

Recognizing the need for stronger, more personal connections between law enforcement and the public, George formally established Badges & Boxes to provide a practical, hands-on approach to community engagement. The program partners with local businesses, churches, and nonprofit organizations to deliver essential items directly to individuals and families in need, while creating meaningful, trust-building interactions between officers and the communities they serve.

Under George’s leadership, Badges & Boxes has also become a proven model for crisis response. Following the devastating flooding in Western North Carolina after Hurricane Helene, the organization worked alongside local emergency management, the National Guard, Mercury One, and other nonprofit partners to deliver critical aid — equipping roughly 100 families with all-season yurts, wood stoves, solar generators and panels, fire mats, and other essentials so they could remain on their land and begin to rebuild.

Beyond his work in the field, George has collaborated with legislators in Raleigh to help introduce the North Carolina Survivors Justice Act, reflecting his commitment to advocating for victims of domestic violence and human trafficking.

Throughout her life, Bonnie has demonstrated that with dedication, perseverance, and hard work, any obstacle can be overcome. The same fighting spirit that carried her through her battle with cancer, raising her family, and building a successful business now helps drive the continued growth and impact of Badges & Boxes.

Bonnie has been a part of Badges & Boxes since its earliest days — traveling to trailer parks and going door-to-door during the COVID-19 pandemic to make sure students and their families had essential resources. Her hands-on commitment and heart for service remain at the core of the organization’s work today.
